Timothy Sharp -
Timothy Sharp was born in Augsburg, Germany. He studied at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler", Berlin, in Professor Norma Sharp's class, and participated in numerous master classes with Hans Hotter, Brigitte Fassbaender, Peter Schreier and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. He has won prizes at several national and international competitions and has become an acclaimed singer of lieder.

Engagements as a soloist in oratorios and symphonic concerts took him to major German venues in Berlin, Munich, Stuttgart, Essen or Frankfurt am Main. Since 2006 he has sung in concerts with Nikolaus Harnoncourt at the Styriarte, the Musikverein in Vienna, in Salzburg, in Leipzig (Thomaskirche), in Metz (Arsenal) or Paris (Salle Pleyel).

As an opera singer he sang at the Bayrische Staatsoper Munich, Berlin State Opera, Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Komische Oper Berlin, Oper Köln, Städtische Bühnen Wuppertal, Staatstheater Nürnberg, Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania, Teatro Comunale Bolzano, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Chicago Opera Theater and others. Recent projects were: The title role in “Eugen Onegin”, Zar Peter I. in Lortzing’s “Zar und Zimmermann”, Count Almaviva in “Le nozze di Figaro”, Danilo in “Die lustige Witwe”, Marcello in “La Bohéme”, Ulisse in “Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria” a Kurt Weill-/ Rainer Bredemayer-project at the Staatsoper im Schillertheater Berlin, Faust in Schumann’s “Szenen aus Goethes Faust” and appearances with orchestra songs by Schubert and Mahler (Staatsorchester Braunschweig), by Reger (Bruckner Orchestra, Linz), Ravel (Orchestra:“I Pommerigi Musicali”, Milano) ans Mahler’s “Des Knaben Wunderhorn” in Heidenheim.

Upcoming projects include the role of Ping in Puccini’s “Turandot”, a chamber opera by Krenek ( “What Price Confidence”) and a production of S. Sciarrino's "Macbeth" both at the Staatstoper im Schillertheater Berlin and the role of Agamemnon in Gluck’s “Iphigenie en Tauride”.

Timothy Sharp took part in the recording of Salvatore Sciarrino's "Luci mie traditrici", singing the main part of Il Malaspino, which has been awarded the prestigious "Choc du monde" award and was chosen "CD Of The Year 2004" by The Guardian newspaper. Concerts and opera performances have been broadcast throughout Europe by German, Austrian and Italian broadcasting. His debut CD "Nacht und Träume" - Songs by Franz Schubert - has been released in 2006.

His latest project “Max und Moritz” a song cycle after Wilhelm Busch for baritone and Saxophone Quartetto by Guido Rennert has been released in May 2012 by TYXArt.

He will perform this piece at various prestigious german festivals like the Schleswig Holstein Festival or the Rheingau Musikfestival.
